SERVIMG.COM --- is it dangerous?

Post  cannonball on 5/9/2016, 12:05 pm

When posting a picture to the SFG forum, it uploads to a www.servimg.com.    The picture shows fine in the forum thread.   It says click to enlarge.   When clicking to enlarge, it goes to the SERVIMG website.   I use McAfee as my Anti-Virus program, and McAfee marks this website, SERVIMG, as suspicious, saying: "We tested this page and blocked content that comes from potentially dangerous or suspicious sites. Allow this content only if you’re sure it comes from safe sites."   See image below, which also is posted to the SERVIMG site.

Has anyone else noticed if this SERVIMG site is flagged as potentially dangerous?

Nope.  I don't know a lot about it but I like that they keep all my photos.  It's like Shutterfly but with better organizing  potential.  I really should use it more.

Perhaps it is blocked by McAfee / Microsoft etc because they don't subscribe to the various forms of blackmail such anti virus companies use to gain new money . I understand that to host on a lot of the big boy's & girl's  servers or run through them they want to make you pay a fee .

My anti virus system is quite a few steps up the ladder from the basic  McAfee and unrelated to most common mainstream programme makers ...  When I ran it through our BT. com internet host here in the UK it says , " Web address not found " .
Which to me means it does not like the web address either , for I've had the same screen shot as you have put up when I've accessed different web addresses via a different host such as clicking a link in social media site post  .

I don't use that system so I have no idea. I download my iphone photo to the hard drive under My Pictures so I never encounter it.

It isn't being blocked by my up to date Bitdefender antivirus software.
