Thanks to the forum I found out there are two grades of Mel's Mix in bags. One for depot stores and one for garden centers. Sure enough, here in Las Vegas my local Lowe's has Garden Time Mel's Mix for $18 a bag with NO sea kelp or bat guano.. ( bag looks the same ) and Plant World here has the good mix with bat guano and sea kelp and it's $13 a bag.. Better and cheaper.. Doesn't get any better than that. So, if you are lucky enough to live where there is a garden center get your Mel's Mix there instead of the depot store.

I think getting things from somewhere other than a big box store is good advice in general I'm lucky enough to have a local greenhouse that has all kinds of cool stuff, as well as some unique flowers and plants.
