A Friend Gone

Post  Kelejan on 8/7/2016, 12:53 am

I went to a friend's funeral service today. Fiona, a mother to one daughter and a grandma to two grandsons and human to a sweet little dog named Hugo.

It seems that going to funerals one finds out things you never knew about them. Fiona was part of a group I belong to that celebrate each of our birthdays by getting together and having coffee, exchanging cards and maybe small gifts.

I never knew that Fiona loved classical music and she never knew that I did as well. That made me feel so sad.

RIP dear Fiona.  Sad

I'm so sorry. Having friends go is a sad part of getting older. Celebrate every day.

I'm sorry, Kelejan. And I know what you mean about finding out new things about people at funerals. Amazing...

Aw, I get it.  People are very complex, and even when we know them, many times it is just the surface.  You shared many fond times together, remember those moments.  ((((Hugs))))

Thanks for your thoughts. We all have many facets to our characters and no one can know them all.

That's when we read obituaries. we realise that we did not really know them.
