How to post a YouTube video

Post  trolleydriver on 12/23/2016, 3:29 pm

Instructions on how to embed a YouTube video into a post on the forum.

Since this thread was started and I posted my instructions for posting videos using a computer (see below), several forum members have posted better ways to do it using phones, tablets and computers.

Here is what I was doing using a computer.

1. Go to the YouTube website.
2. Search for a video and left click on it to start it.
3. Right click on the video image to bring up a list of things you can do with the video.
4. Left click on "Copy embed code".
5. In your forum post, left click on the spot where you want the video to appear.
6. Paste the embed code (e.g. in Windows use the CTRL-V shortcut or right click and choose "paste" from the displayed list).
6. You should see the embed code displayed in your post.
7. Send the post and the video should be displayed in the post.

That's how I got the following video into this post.

Thanks, TD! Great info! I'll try it next time I'm on my computer.

Does anyone know how to do it with a tablet or phone since they don't have right and left click?

If you go to YouTube, under  the video you are watching there is a share area. Click embed code and it  will highlight the code. Copy the code, then paste it into the post on the forum. That's the way I do it. On the computer, tablet, or phone.

What I do is while watching the video I click on the top address bar and copy then click the lil youtube button on the post box and paste it there.  It's soon to be lemon picking time so I tried it to be sure it worked
