One man's trash is another man's treasure

Post  boffer on Mon 8 Mar - 16:42

These carts might look like trash to you; they did to all the other people at the auction. That's why I got them for $1 a piece.

To me, I see 1 hours worth of time to strip one, turn it upside, remove the wheels, paint it, and end up with a steel table to set a 3x8 SFG bed on.

Ward warned me of the hazards of finding deals at auctions: I'll eventually have to build another garage to store the great deals!. I've already got my new beds made for this year, I really don't need these. If anybody wants one, come and get it. Bring some jokes and a pair of gloves so you can help me-I might be persuaded to modify it somewhat to fit your needs.

Great find!

Post  jinx on Mon 8 Mar - 16:55

If you had a patio to put them on you could maybe even remount the wheels so they are even more portable...?

I haven't been looking in our free classified section today. I guess I was tuckered out from moving all my free bricks... tomorrow is another day stuck at the computer so I'm sure I'll see more stuff eventually.

Those will make great tables. Now...what ya gonna do with the castors and that big pressure vessel? That just looks like a great air tank for air powered tools to me hehehe.

One man's trash...

Post  WardinWake on Mon 8 Mar - 17:44

Steve:

If the casters can be removed without damage you can resell them for $10.00 each. That would be 40.00 per $1.00 cart = two bags of vermiculite...

God Bless, Ward.

Good eye, Travers, it's a 120 gal air tank that's never had a motor/compressor mounted on it. I'll plumb it in with my existing 80 gal tank. I needed it as much as a hole in the head!

Truth is, I bought them for the casters. Nearly everything I own is on wheels.
