Hydro Ottawa released new footage of the water flow on the Ottawa River at Chaudier Falls. The flow has exceeded all measurements for the past 100 years. There is still a 30% chance of more rain for 4 of the next 5 days and then 60% on the 6th day.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yCs5HZq7uzA

Our daugter-in-law has to cross one of the bridges from Ottawa, Onatrio to Gatineau, Quebec to get to her government job. She had today off and will get tomorrow off because the office is closed and the local authorities are trying to keep people off the bridges.

I talked to my family in Southern Illinois, same things happening there! Major interstate highways closing, bridges closing. I think it may be better now.  Here in Idaho there was a lot of flooding in Boise last week, all the canals, rivers and lakes are really full and still a bunch of snow on the peaks!

My wife said we had a big rain storm blow through here about 3:00 this morning. I never heard a thing.   sawing logs
I worked in the garden all day yesterday mixing more MM, planting and mulching.

The storm that went through last night has really cooled things off.  From yesterday's mid 80s we are now at 48F and windy.  The good thing is that the mini-greenhouse survived the storm.

Up until a few days ago, I had to bring all my summer babies in every night because of our cold nighttime temps. A few days from now, I'll have to start bringing lettuce and tomatoes inside every day to save them from triple-digit daytime temps. AARRGGHH!!!!!  Shocked

Not here or where my son teaches in Alaska.
Despite having an almost cold as 'normal winter(what I grew up with)' the crocus were 2 weeks early in blooming and the cherries started blooming 3 weeks early (the new normal). Plants that could not survive here now can. What has stayed the same is this volitileness during spring and our last frost date is the same, but the ground is warmer so it does less damage.

We reserve the right to grumble mightily about these late storms.

I covered the garden last night. We have had a couple days of snow and rain and slush (my least favorite, be rain or snow! not in between!) It frosted last night but thanks to a light cloud covering did not dip as low as I feared it would.

Toasty and sunny right now but we're heading for 50's for the coming week starting tonight.  Too soon to plant out summer veggies. Sad  Memorial Day is the magical planting date on ol' Cape Cod.

Strange how my weather sticky says 71 but when I click on it to open the website it says 82.

The weather here in SE New Brunswick is insane and of two minds.

It began at 23C (74F) and sunny, then switched to WET and now the temp is dropping to the low of 4C(39F) this evening.

So yeah, it's been a while ride as it's been like this for most of the past week.

We get rain again tomorrow, don't mind though, the weekend was nice. I spent both days winching up the lilacs that the snow storm on Mother's Day bent over. I lost a few of them though.

Drizzly and cold! Same forecast for the next few days. I sure hope so. I sowed SO many seeds over the weekend that if they all grow it'll look like a jungle out there.
Got my fingers crossed.

We have sunshine (hooray!) and mid 60's here in NE Ohio.  It rained most of the day yesterday, so I am so glad to see the sunshine.

Today is supposed to be partly sunny with a light breeze, high of 65°, I'm good with that. Right now it is sunny outside!

Happy Memorial Day, remember the sacrifices made so we can enjoy what we have.

We are expecting a high of 72F with a mix of sun and cloud. Beautiful day for gardening but I will be inside for a good part of the day working on some other things.

Happy Memorial Day to all my American friends.
