I'm a couple hours south of SR; 2.75 inches for me yesterday on top of last Friday's heavy rain.  More this AM as well...

Sudden, unforecasted thunderstorm. Loving the rain, but why'd if have yo come with hail too? Even if they were teeny tiny hailstones.

We just got hit with another thunderstorm and heavy rain. We lost power for a brief time.

It seems like everyone is getting hit with lots of either rain/hail, or heat/drought. Is anyone having nice garden weather?

Well aside from the drought, we are supposed to cool off s bit next week. Two more days of 90s then mid to high 80s. I think that's about as good of gardening weather I could hope for this time of year.

happy hi
I do, I do! We've finally come out of the fog and it's beautiful today! Okay so maybe we haven't had any rain in 2 weeks. But I have a hose and I have some buckets. And I don't have powdery mildew... Yet.

So far we have had 4 days under 100 (94-99) and are predicted to have 4 more (98-99)between now and the end of the month.  Everything else is over 100°.  It was also 100° from the 17th to the 25th of June and in the high 90's between the 25th & the 30th.

I can't wait for fall.   Rolling Eyes

I can really sympathize with you in the Central Valley in California, it gets hot there. But, you have great soil and when there isn't a drought, you have great gardening. When you do have a drought, oh the joys of a drip system, I remember 11 foot tall walls of Morning Glories, 6-8' tall tomato plants, wall  to wall melons, squash, zucchini and cucumbers, row after row of onions and garlic that surrounded all the little gardens inside my garden area, fenced off to keep the critters out.
It is so different out here in New Hampster (New Hampshire). If it hadn't been for Square Foot Gardening, which I started practicing in the Central Valley, I probably wouldn't have continued gardening here. We do get more water, but the conditions are much harsher, cold, sometimes too wet, with short seasons, and soil that grows its own rocks. Not to mention almost endless amount of critters, the bad bug kind, the flying kind, and the four legged kind.
We have had a beautiful day today, I got up with the sun just to enjoy it. Started with no clouds, then a very brief time of some very high clouds, the a short time of the big fluffy white clouds, rolling through along with a wonderful light breeze to keep the bugs away. Now occasionally we have a cotton ball looking cloud appear and float by in a summer's blue sky. It has stayed in the lower 80's today, just about right for anything you want to do outside.

Today began as a partially cloudy  day that became overcast.

Not too long ago, the skies opened and a downpour started!  It came down hard and fast and for a decent amount of time.  I hope it rains more, now that the ground has had a chance to drink up round one!

Going up to 88F on Wednesday in Ottawa.  It must have been about that today as well. This weather is giving the heat seeking plants a boost.  Very Happy

As for Sanderson and me... our weather is HOT.  With patches of HEAT and INCREASING TEMPERATURES until September or October, lol!

Same here, but this morning is gorgeous. We have another mini-heatwave coming this weekend. Sad

For the last couple of days it's been in the high 20s(low 80s), but next week the lows are DROPPING to near 10C (50F).

Still there has been some rain, but not frequently enough.

Re: How's the Weather Where You're At?

Well we got some much needed rain tonight. Unfortunately it came with a tornado 20 miles north of town and golf ball sized hail. No one was injured in the tornado, and most ood the hail that fell was marble to pea size, with only a handful approaching golf ball size.

Too much lightning for me to survey the damage to the garden tonight, so I'll be investigating tomorrow.
