That sounds really good, and I've got all the ingredients, including one of my Gigante Jalapeños to try out.  It looks really good, but I'm afraid to just bite into it, so I think I'll make this my breakfast in the next couple of days.
Good plan, I think you will like it!  Honestly you can use about anything!  A avocado is nice too if you have it on hand.

TD, I see what you mean...what does it taste like?  The root ball?  Your end product looks tasty!

Nice job TD! Can't say I've ever tried kohlrabi before myself.

As for me, today I dug up the rest of my carrot week round Romeo baby carrots. Boiled them and had them as a side with fried chicken and mashed potatoes with the last of my garden's green bunching onion supply. Here's a pic of the carrots, also posted in the carrot week thread.

Thank you! I can't take much credit, lol. After sowing the seeds, we had such unusually wet weather that I barely had do to do anything. I can count on one hand how many times I had to water them.

These ones grow skinless so that's how they look after rinsing them off. Now I just need to decide what to plant in that free square! Probably more bunching onions, can't get enough of those, haha.

Fiz ... those carrots are fantastic.  Perfect for small depth SFG beds. I need to get me some seeds.

They are sweet tasting, almost like baby carrots you get from the grocery store. The first batch that I pulled up a few weeks ago I ate raw, this batch was boiled. Both times were very enjoyable!

A couple of days ago I had the first taste from my garden.

It was a single blueberry, but it was ripe and absolutely delicious.

(Granted, I do have basil and cilantro galore, waiting to be harvested and used, but no need for that just yet)

Some small mokum carrots! Most were from around the tomatoes, a few thinned from the deep bed. I had planted them 25 per square in the deep bed, so some thinning isn't a bad thing

Sliced these babies in half and grilled them. I thought they were really good, wife thought they were kinda bland. Neither of us have had eggplant much.

Nice carrots, and those eggplants are adorable Rob! Mine are getting bigger, planning to make baba ganoush out of them when they're mature.

Congratulations eggplant growers!

All that I have are a few flowers on my sad looking eggplants.  Sad

I have a couple of other eggplant plants that just have sad flowers, lol. But the ones that are producing seem to be the lucky ones, and they are in the same container too. Among the tattered, hail damaged leaves you can see three fruits growing.

Definitely agree! But they're even more beautiful when they wither away and bring forth a strange looking alien fruit, haha.

Re: What are you eating from your garden today?

Harvested a couple of my Italian eggplants and made baba ganoush for the first time. Thought I'd try a small portion to see how it turned out and also encourage the plant to get producing!

The baba ganoush was so tasty, can't wait to make more! The smokey flavor of the eggplant was amazing, and it smelled delicious when it came off the BBQ. I took it to my parents' place as they invited us over for a BBQ and I was surprised that two immature eggplants managed to make enough for everyone to have two or three teaspoons worth to dip with.

Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture right after the final product so please excuse the non-appetizing shot of nearly finished baba ganoush, lol!

Pizza with a rice crust and basil pesto sauce with a first tomato sliced over it and cheese. I used some of the tiny bulb garlic's green leaves and green bulbs for te pesto along with basil from the greenhouse. The tomato is a Big Beef. There are still 2 Cherokee Purples for sandwiches tomorrow.

Still nuthin. Some peppers on the pepper plants, not ready yet. Lots of zucchini and cuke flowers.  Tons of green tomatoes and plenty more flowers. Surprisingly, a lot of new flowers on my sugar snaps. I can't lie. I have been enjoying basil, cilantro and parlsley. But I want more!!! Twisted Evil

Besides the usual lettuce salad, collard/kale smoothie, chives, peas and a few green beans, I pulled and ate my first full sized carrot today. It was all crooked, but I forgot to take a photo. Tasted kind of bland I thought, so I may not grow the Danvers 126 again unless future pulls are better.
