New compost bin and 4x8 cedar bed

Post  MrBooker on 2/23/2017, 8:23 am

We picked up some free pallets at our Rural King store last week and I put together a compost bin. No measuring, cutting or nailing. (Although I did cut one end off)
I secured it with 24 ins wire ties. The planter box on top is the end of the pallet I cut off.

Last spring, Wal-Mart had these 4x4x6 cedar beds for $40.00. In the fall, they were on sale for $9.00. Below is a pic of the beds stacked two high. No tools needed. Their all tongue and groove.

Next is a pic of whats left of my back yard after I was stricken with the dreaded SFG virus...  I love you
The apartments in the background is for senior citizens. They like to come over and visit me in the garden and of course, they go home with fresh veggies I give them..  Wink  PS: The wood is whats left of the apple tree I cut down.

There's twin sisters in the end apartment closest to me who are really up there in age but still spunky and full of life.
They know I won't take money for the veggies so they always buy me a little something when they can get out to the store.

Haha! "...dreaded SFG virus..."

What a nice arrangement you have there... the neighbors make it special. One of the things I love most about gardening is having some to share with neighbors who don't have their own access to the "good stuff" we grow ourselves.
