Hello from DFW

Post  RC3291 on 2/26/2017, 12:26 pm

Hello! I decided to try gardening again after a failed attempt many years ago. I've been reading up on square foot and container gardening. Still not sure what I'm doing but know more than my last attempt. Starting small with one 4x8 raised bed and a 55 gallon barrel cut to make two large round container. With our unusually warm weather I started back the middle of January with some potatoes that had sprouted sitting in the kitchen in one of my containers. First of February I built my raised bed and planted a few things. Luckily we haven't had a freeze and my last average freeze date rapidly approaching I might get lucky. Already have hoops installed if it does though. Time to get to reading the forums. See ya around.

Welcome to the forum

A bunch of good natured souls here.  So much information that it can be overwhelming but stick with us and be sure to read Mel's latest book.  His soil mix is so outstanding that it will make gardening easy and fun for you.
