Looks like you got to the high sixties today, camp.
cheers
What a beautiful day! We were in the high 50s and I was out gardening all day long. I am so sore and tired but I'm so happy. Didn't get everything done and planted that I wanted but hey, I have all summer.

Planting onion starts is a tedious job. Particularly when it's uncomfortable to kneel for a long time. If the new hip doesn't fix that I see table tops in my future.

Last weekend I started some six year old pak choi seeds in a paper towel hoping I might get a couple viable ones.. They all sprouted. I now have 35 cunning babies.
UNBELIEVABLE!!!

How is everyone else's day? What did you all do?

The above baby pak choi has been living outside during the days since I potted them.  I think they like it.

Today I made a hoop tunnel to cover the leafy greens.  Herself (aka white butterfly) will soon be making an appearance and I want to be ready.

I also sowed some radishes, beets, the 3rd succession of sugar snap peas and planted broccoli starts (amongst the onion starts hoping I won't have to cover them from she who shall not be named again Rolling Eyes ) and more onions starts. So done with those onion starts.  While out there I noticed that the spinach is sprouting!  No sign of any peas yet tho.

All I have left in the house to plant out are the more lettuces and more broccoli.  Tomorrow is another nice day so maybe I'll get to it then.

Wow, good luck with that CC. You are going to have a great garden this year. Sending you prayers and good wishes for your hospital stay. I too am currently in the hospital, not sure how long. Have a bone infection in my foot. I am missing the first good weather days in my garden. My computer has issues and is dying, will have to use notsosmart cell to view SFG. Like I need any more issues...

Thank you TNG. I was very fortunate in that my best friend, who was with me throughout, to drove me to and from the hospital ,and stayed with me overnight last night, is a Reiki master and a yoga instructor. So I had lots of Reiki before and after surgery and a little this morning before she left for work. Feeling pretty darn good. So nice not to have pain in that hip anymore other than this nasty stretched out muscle pain. Which is fading very quickly.
What a Face

I haven't been out to the garden since coming home yesterday but I need to get out today and water. I'm using a cane so I have to be very careful. The hose is all set up and ready to go so it should be pretty simple.  It's so beautiful out!

How's it going, Rock?

Re: New England April 2017

Howdy! Just got back from the doc's office. He is very happy and surprised at how well the foot is doing. Now I have about five weeks of IV meds, minimal running, dancing, soccer, walking, standing, etc.- very doable. They have a "No weapons" sign on the door to the drs. office, I was wondering if they were going to take my steel crutches (they are taller than many people!)
I am doing well, but it is VERY hard to not walk or stand and keep the foot elevated, but I am and it shows. I go to the podiatrist on Monday. It totally frosts my backside that I cannot be out there in the garden.  Here it is 50+ degrees and I am stuck inside. I actually have garlic from last summer that is still good, I kept it hanging from the stalk in a darkish area, they are ready to go in-FRUSTRATING! So I sit here and think of creative uses for my weapons of massive distribution...

Embarassed I must be getting old. I knew CC had surgery scheduled but not Rock's foot infection. It sounds like you are both on the positive side of mending.

I got out to water the garden yesterday and it was fabulous out there! Everything looks wonderful. My neighbors were freaking out tho. They're more worried about me than I am. I'm on Tylenol and lots of frozen bags of peas. Actually the frozen peas are my new best friends! I stopped taking the narc but I have it at the ready in case it's needed. VNA and PT came yesterday. Apparently I'm ahead of schedule and everything is looking great!

Onward and upward... it's another beautiful day in the neighborhood. Maybe I can get my carrots and turnips planted today.

Its so nice to hear my old friends are doing better healthwise.  Good luck to you BigRock, keep up with the meds and do what the dr. tells you.  I know some men can be stubborn and think they are Superman, but you'll be supersick if you don't listen.  Thumbs up for you.
CC.....So nice you are feeling so good but don't push yourself too fast.  I know some heal fast and well and you sound like one of those so keep up the good work.  The garden will still be waiting for you.  Besides, its New England and the busy stuff can wait a few more weeks.

As for me, I'm eager to buy some tomatoes, lettuces, and thyme to begin my limited pot garden.  In the meantime, I'm enjoying watching the trout fishermen from my window in the river and seeing the daffies sprouting.

Above picture us a birch tree with the first daffies starting to bloom at its base. Yippee, its spring.

CC, you must have some exceptionally wonderful healing properties, and it is a blessing for you.

You are an inspiration.

Having a frozen shoulder for months has made it necessary to take several days off from gardening, but if you can get out there and persist, then I need to get off my tush and do the same.
