Reading Material?

Post  Scorpio Rising on 4/22/2017, 1:55 pm

Just picked up Eat to Live by Joel Fuhrman, MD at my library....what other books/cookbooks/resources do you refer to for healthy diet advice?  Got this book idea either from CN, GB or CC, or all 3!

Mrs. Geezer has helped others by turning them onto the books by Dr. David Perlmutter, and his Grain Brain plan.

She also recommends looking online at the Autoimmune Paleo sites (AIP) and the Amen Protocol.

I may be biased, but I really like The Blue Zones.  For years, it was my thought and fantasy to retire to Costa Rica and have a farm, so when the Nicoya Peninsula was named one of the original five Blue Zones, I knew I had to read the book and give enough respect to it to follow some of the guidelines therein.

BTW, being a member of this forum could be considered in broad terms to be following some of the guidelines of that book.

I will check out the Blue Zones, new one on me.  Thanks, Banned!  And you are right, in the spring, summer and fall, our diet is very veggie and fruit based just due to the fact that we are swimming in them!

I can't wait to get my new bed built, and a 4x4 for some strawberries....love them.  Like candy compared to the ones you can usually get in Krogers or wherever!

Never been to Costa Rica.  My sister went and had a wonderful time. thinking

I understand that Costa Rica is beautiful!  I have anthropologist friends who spend a great deal of time there.

Unfortunately, I have little tolerance for heat and humidity.
