Sure, I placed the Cayenne Pepper sauce recipe in the Canning & Preserving section since it isn't an appetizer.
Enjoy!

The last of the lemon cukes. (This was actually a few days ago.) I had just about changed my mind about growing these, after my huge success with the Armenians, but then I discovered that when the nights start getting cold, the Armenians don't do well, but these guys thrive. This last batch are crisp and sweet. It's almost like eating an apple. I will definitely grow them again next year.

Thanks for sharing that the lemon cucumbers are good for the cool fall. When did you start them?

Started them in June. They took forever. I don't think I harvested one until October. Then they took off. I got at least a dozen from just 2 vines. happy turtle

Mine survived the heat, but did not thrive. My burpless and Armenians produced all summer, while the lemon cukes showed wilted leaves most days until they got fully established. The didn't produce a single blossom until  the middle of Sept.

Mine died in the heat here, but I sowed some in late August. I have them coming now.  bounce

Looks like it is fried green tomatoes or green tomato salsa time.

Yep!  I think I will do both.  Probably fry a couple and make salsa with the rest.  I was also thinking about making a green tomato pasta sauce, but I didn't really find any recipes that looked very appealing to my families tastes.  We love vegetables, but in my home, pasta sauce has meat in it! tongue

Anyone have a link to a green salsa recipe that they have tried and liked?
