watermelon bed expansion

Post  has55 on 7/7/2017, 12:42 am

my watermelon and cantaloupes are growing rapidly. so had the tree trimmers dump two loads to expand the beds. went to Walmart Tuesday night to get cardboard to smother out the grass. that was enough for the first load. too tired to go back at midnight the second night, so had them just dump it on the grass. Hope the mulch is heavy enough to smother out the grass.

The trimmings look to be about 6" deep - that should kill all the grass under it!

Shocked Wow, I'm jealous of all the area you have for gardening.

PS Nut grass is a pain, you know where.
