First attempt at Square Foot Gardening

Post  karamorgan on 5/16/2010, 10:28 am

I stumbled upon the Square Foot Method this spring and immediately dug out my winter plants and the top 6" of soil in my raised bed and started prepping my summer garden to use the square foot method! My husband was less than thrilled in the beginning, but now that he is seeing the results he is so excited too! I don't think I'll ever use a different method in my raised bed from now on!

Here are some pics of the summer crops getting started!

Wow! Very lovely -- both the construction of the beds and the plants themselves.

Your garden looks amazing! Good Job. I'm doing the SFG method for the first time this year and I'm loving it too!

Beautiful! I envy you the corn -- we got ours started too late for corn, but next year . . .

The corn looks great. I can't wait to hear how it did with the SFG.

InCrEdIbLE I love it!

How did you get your corn to stand so straight?
Most of mine has fallen down, even though I planted at the recommended depth.
