OH NOES!!!!

Post  Leighfluver on 5/16/2010, 10:05 pm

Ok, so I got this seaweed packet of plant fertilizer for free from Burpee last year. DIdn't use it.

I used it this year but read the directions incorrectly.

It said to dissolve the packet into a gallon of water. Did that.

DIDN'T REALIZE THAT THAT IS THE CONCENTRATE (cuz I apparently am an illiterate idiot)

It said to put a measured amt OF CONCENTRATE into a gallon of water and THEN apply to the plants.

I PUT THE CONCENTRATE ON THE PLANT'S SOIL (in the packets and in the beds)!!!!!!

What will happen!??? My precious plants look like they are wilting.

I'm no expert and you'll probably get better advice from this, but here is my advice. I am assuming you're using Mel's Mix, which seems to drain well, etc and you can't overwater with it.

I'd "overwater" to flush out/dilute the solution. Just flush it out by watering heavily the next few days or until you see a change. This should help dilute the fertiizer.

Also, keep in mind that you can "burn" with too much of a fertilizer, but oftentimes those plants will come back once the fertilizer is "out of the system." You may be okay this early in the season.

Water. Water. Water.
