I also predict it.@CapeCoddess wrote:@Kelejan wrote:In my car port, seeing as I no longer have a car, I converted it by making a screen using one of my SFG upright frames, and placing it behind a row of cinder blocks with a raised bed on it. It gave me more room behind to stash things like the garbage bin and blue recycle bins. Today a friend took me shopping, and instead of parking in the road like she usually does, she decided to back up. You guessed it, she backed up too far and moved everything around. Now I need some strong arms to help put it back together again. Every thing is too heavy for me so I need to take it apart and rebuild it.
OH NO! But knowing you and your karma, someone will come along eventually and help out.

As long as those mountains don't fall on me,

As I got ready for bed last night, I looked out the window and saw a winter wonderland, about an inch of snow on the shrubs, trees, grass and roadway. It really was beautiful. The snow was falling steadily so I assumed there would be shovelling involved come morning.
This morning, every bit of snow had fallen to the ground and the winter wonderland had dissolved. I have just finished shovelling the driveway and the snow was only about 2 inches deep but HEAVY. I try to clear the driveway ASAP as I have learned from past experience it is easier to do it little and often.
Checked the forecast and we are due another 2 inches (50mm) tonight, then a day's break then it will get cold as the arctic blanket comes down. Winter storm warning in effect for a while. So happy that I do not bother to travel far at this time of year but keep close to home.
My friend Diane leaves today for Spokane to catch a plane to New Orleans and from there a cruise ship. I do hope that the Atlanta Airport will have sorted itself out and that New Orleans is not affected.
Our friends down south are having a bad year, with floods from Harvey, the California fires etc. I hope for a better year for you all.

My bets are on you, Kelejan!
It has been a rough fall for the southern US. And the fires in drought stricken Cali.

Re: CANADIAN REGION: What are you doing in December 2017
Yesterday a lot more snow had fallen so I had to clear the driveway again. Later on I went out to walk my friend's dog Oliver, who is staying with another friend of hers as I cannot have the dog with my Pal the cat as he hates dogs and is very wary of even the most timid of dogs. We enjoyed that walk in the deep snow and we will do that daily until New Year's Eve. Diane's friend is happy to have the dog at her home, but is not capable of walking very far except to give him a short comfort break. So I am keeping fit by doing a walk at mid-day for Oliver, and an evening walk with Guthrie, my neighbour's dog. Also shovelling snow but making sure I take it in small doses is also good for me. With a bit of luck I will be able to do my 10,000 steps each day.
Shortly I will be doing some winter seeding in plastic bottles. I managed a few flower seeds last year but this time I will be veggies.
ETA It will soon be the Winter Solstice and the longer daylight will return.

Re: CANADIAN REGION: What are you doing in December 2017
That is always my goal. If I get 7 to 8 thousand I am OK with that. I certainly did not get that today due to the icy roads and sidewalks, but it makes up for it by the effort to plough through the snow drifts that have solidified. So nicy patches hidden under the new snow. What made it worse that the temperature had risen above freezing for a short while, then refroze.
This morning I arrived at my friend's friend's home to find that she had taken Oliver to a nearby boarding kennel along with her own dog, so I did not get to walk Oliver today. I felt a bit miffed that she did not tell me but secretly I am glad as the walking conditions were so hard; so I returned home and had a cozy day indoors with only a short evening walk with Guthry (or Guthrie?). so I at least had my walk for today.
