Coming Out of Hibernation

Post  Fiz on 1/26/2018, 2:47 pm

Hey everyone!

I'm baaaa-aaaack. :-) I know I dropped off in the fall and winter but once my garden wrapped up, things got really busy with my little one starting kindergarten, among other things.

Looking forward to the thaw when it eventually happens! I learned a ton last year and am hoping to apply that newfound knowledge this year.

Unfortunately, I don't have a south facing window or grow lights, otherwise I'd be getting started earlier, but will likely try to get a jump on spring with some cool weather veggies in the next month or two.

Hope you're all doing well!

Hi Fiz and welcome back.

You may want to try Winter Sowing to start seeds outdoors in mini greenhouses made from plastic containers (e.g., 2 litre pop bottles). See wintersown.org . There are some good Facebook groups for this as well as a ton of info on the Interweb. I tried it last year with partial success. I'm just now getting my containers ready for this year. If nothing else it is a really fun experiment.

Hi Fiz, Hibernation! That is a good term for those in the coldest areas. Very Happy
