February Avatar: Time to Wake Up!

Post  trolleydriver on 2/1/2018, 11:07 am

Last year, countrynaturals started a thread called "February 2017 Avatar: Time to Wake Up!"

That is a great theme. Sanderson and I discussed continuing that same theme for February of this year and possibly future years. So the new thread does not have a year in the title.

Show us what is waking up in your garden. Even though my SFG and 99.9% of the rest of my garden is sleeping under the snow, I did find signs of life in the form of some green ground cover near the foundation of the house on the south side (photo later).

It would be much easier if I posted everything that died!

This was a real challenge. My garden never went to bed. happy banana Here is a flower from the Bee Garden with a bee already on it. I guess they both woke up early this year. I guess it's "fer reals" too. Our 10-day forecast is nothing but 70s for highs and high 40s to mid 50s for lows. I'm already starting to dread summer. Our temps are 20-25 degrees above normal. affraid

Not sure I'll find anything growing this month...maybe toward the end.  So for now I'll use a "signs of life" theme and change it later if anything pops up:

Here is a couple pics of my strawberries.

The 2nd photo is my avatar for Feb. The leaves have been eaten by the deer. My sfg is surrounded by a 4 ft. fence,
