Everything is growing great

Post  dixie on 5/17/2010, 6:25 pm

Well, with working, babysitting, life in general, I haven't been around much lately. Lettuce is all gone, cabbages are heading, tomatoes blooming, picked one yellow squash yesterday & my 3 plants are loaded with babies. The zucchini will be ready to pick in a day or two. Bush Roma beans are blooming, loads of baby cukes, Peppers are a little slow, but they usually are, especially since I started them from seed. It's amazing how much ahead I am of the other gardeners around here - thanks to the raised beds heating up quicker & not being too wet to plant.

One lesson learned is to plant squash at the END of the box, not in between other plants. The other is not to plant tomatoes on the outside & beans in the center. Don't know what I was thinking that day. Maybe the beans will be ready to harvest before the tomatoes get too huge & I can't reach in to get to the beans.

Here's a couple of pics. The girls are standing in the path between 2 boxes - everything is huge!

Whoa!! That is really amazing! It wasn't all that long ago you were putting those beds in with the dirt and all....now, it just looks like a big mass of green - wow.

The girls are beautiful (looks like the youngest knows it! Sassy!)
