Re: New Iphone & Ipad app for SFG.
Argh, I typed here as I used the upgraded app, and then got distracted, navigated away and lost my response, so here's the short version of what annoys me. There's plenty I like, but lets just let me whine for now. thanks! I definitely like the sunrise/sunset thing.
The zone map could be higher resolution for better zooming.
If I add a new plant (rosemary, lavender, etc), don't put up that random mixed veg pic. give me the option of assigning an abbreviation to that box. I want the grid view to actually show me what's growing without having to click on anything. Since I had to create a bunch of plants, almost my whole grid is that random bunch of veggies pic.
It would be nice to be able to drag the plants around and clone them to different squares while in a planning stage.
It would be great to have a square be maybe greyscale when it's planned but not planted, and then once it's planted, have it go full color.
I don't know squat about programming, so maybe these ideas aren't possible, but they would be cool if you could make it happen.
Is there a way to print my plan?
are you able to collect what plants people are adding during syncs or updates or anything to be able to determine what plants to add in the future?

I am with Mike, an Android version would be amazing and I would so pay for it! It would make life so much easier if I could access something like that right by the garden, as opposed to having to run in the house for the desktop.

Of course... a mobile web app would be even better. That way it wouldn't be phone specific. Just a mobile web page!

Re: New Iphone & Ipad app for SFG.
I borrowed my son's ipod touch so I could try this application. I see the free version and the Garden Planner Bumper Crop version for $4.99 but I don't see a $1.99 version. What am I missing? Is there another version for $1.99?

The app is called Garden Tracker. Here's a link to the app at the iTune store:

I hope this helps!
I just found out today that my lovely mother is going to give me her old iPod Touch, so I will definitely be downloading this app!

Thanks. My daughter laughed at me and told me how to do it correctly. I downloaded the free app so I am off to play.

Re: New Iphone & Ipad app for SFG.
Hey Y'all, I just wanted to post an update. The Iphone app has been very well received and we are now in the process of building an Android version, which should be out by the first of the year. Thank you all for your support! We've got new products coming soon, including an easy to use drip irrigation system and a combination critter cage(animal protector) and Greenhouse! More info coming soon.

I'm in the dark ages...
I don't have an Iphone or android. I only have an old fashion computer. Is there a program similar for us not up to speed in the mobile era?

Being technologically challenged myself.....
All this newfangled stuff is completely lost on me. I don't understand the need for a Ipod app that would tell you when to harvest. Can't you just tell by looking at your SFG? When the beans and peas are full you pick them. When the tomatoes are red you pick them. I thought the whole point of SFG was that it was small and close to your back door so you could be in touch with it.
