PNW weather is the pits!

Post  boffer on 5/29/2010, 11:46 am

Daytime highs are 15 degrees below average. I've had non-stop rain for two days. Real rain, too, not our normal stuff. The webs between my toes are starting to grow again, and I'm ready to dust off my umbrella hat. And to think I chose this year to experiment with a sfg wicking box.

I've still got a dozen maters and peppers to plant that I've been holding back on, just in case. I'll be looking up all my green tomato recipes today cause I'm thinking the only red ones I'll be seeing this year are the ones I paint. It's gonna be a bad year for skeeters and slugs-thank goodness for tabletops. At least this year I can feed the slugs to my chickens.

I'm done moanin' and groanin', I think I'll go back to bed...

June 1 .....there is a rain cloud that stretches from the Philippians to Washington state and it doesn't look like it is going away any time soon.

Ugh, I agree! I looked up the Farmers Almanac online and it says at least another week and a half of this soggy mess. I JUST came across SFG and I want to get started!!

Hey hi Oregon!

At least it is a tropical rain. Doesn't stop the gardening itch so I hope you get to play in the dirt soon!

June 4: Rain followed by showers.

Whatever.
We had summer yesterday. I didn't take pictures to prove it. I was working too hard in the garden. The ground was still too wet to mow but I got my peppers planted. Today I'm thinking that was a mistake.

It looks like it's clearing out of your area and coming our way. We need some rain
