Raised Beds on DFW Craigslist

Post  timwardell on 6/1/2010, 2:57 pm

I saw this on Craig's List and wanted to pass it along to anyone in the DFW area.

http://dallas.craigslist.org/ndf/hsh/1766583231.html

I bought two of these for myself and a friend bought one. The guy lives in Frisco - just minutes from me - and still has 4 or 5 left. They are made out of recycled plastic bottles and scrap lumber and look like the composite decking stuff you see at Lowe's or Home Depot. The kit creates a 7' long by 3.5' wide bed. Not exactly SFG specs but close enough. They are exactly 8" deep. I'll be adding a new beds this winter and couldn't pass up the chance to get 'em for $35 each. That's about half what you see kits for at the stores.

If you want additional info on them you can find it at the manufacturer's web site @ http://greenlandgardener.com/

I bought exactly the same beds at Sam's Club for $39.

That's a great price for retail Jola. The cheapest I've seen them in stores around here is $55-$60. It's amazing the mark-up on some of this stuff.

I also bought seven of those at Sam's for $39. The best part is you can stack them higher, they just clip together. A little ductape on the inside seam keeps dirt from working it's way through. I stack them two high, and the company said you can even go 3 tall with some reinforcement with rebar. So far I love them.
