pumpkin blossom bugs

Post  PeggyC on Fri 4 Jun 2010 - 11:06

My giant pumpkin has its first blossom, and it's covered in itty bitty worm-shaped bugs, but I'm pretty sure they must have legs judging from how they move. Are they good or bad? Other bugs I saw on it were a fly and a bee-type thing, but not a normal yellow/black bee. This is the only flower right now, a male, and the other flowers are nowhere close to blooming, so if I should just pick this flower off and throw it away, that's easy enough to do.

I don't think those bugs are harmful to your pumpkin plant. I'd just leave them alone.
