Hydroponic system pics

Post  bpbdrummer on 6/8/2010, 11:38 pm

Here are a few pics of my Hydroponic system ,it's doing reallly well...too well in fact. the root system on the tomatoes and squash are getting too big for the tubes and causing backups and overflows, I trimmed approx 3-4 ft of roots off the squash yesterday and that was only about 1/2 of the total. I'm going to switch over to using coconut fiber grow slabs for tomatoes, cukes and squash and use the tube system for short term crops, lettuce, basil, etc.

You may want to talk to the folks at the Land in Epcot at Disney World. I took their tour last year and recieved all kinds of information. I still call them when I have a question about hydroponics. They may be able to tell you if they had that problem and how to deal with it.

Your outdoor hydroponic vegetable set-up looks excellent! Productive too.

Are you using nutrients that you made or pre-made from a bottle?
