There was a big fight in our house

Post  milaneyjane on 6/9/2010, 10:17 am

over who got to eat the first ripe strawberry, LOL!!!! My 10 year old son eyed it the night before and declared that he was going to be the one to eat it. You know the story of the Little Red Hen??? I told him not a chance. So in the morning in the pouring rain, in his pajamas, he ran out and plucked the small beauty. My other two kids saw the berry and I thought we were going to have WWIII. So I took the tiny thing and divided it into 1/4's. It was sooooooo good. I am going to have to figure out a netting system to keep three kids out of the strawberries now.

Haha! That's great! A celebration is a celebration.

Who shall help me plant the garden? Not I, said the goose, not I said the pig, not I said the horse..... Then I shall do the work myself said the little red hen.

That is so funny!! I can imagine the scene. You dividing the poor little berry into 4's.. Did they argue over who got the biggest portion? Your strawberries dont have a chance!! Netting or not..

Sounds just like my house! We did the same thing. We cut that poor little berry into such tiny slivers that it was amazing anyone could taste it.
