Freecycle - as a way of building and adding plants to your SFG

I just wanted to add, for those who may not know, that 'freecycle' is
group on yahoo! - as well as a way of life lol.

It's a great place to find free stuff to make your SFG!

You can find your local group by doing a freecycle search at
www.groups.yahoo.com, as well as entering your location information at
www.freecycle.org.

It's easy, you can post a 'wanted' message if you are looking for
something in particular, or an 'offer' message if you have something
that you are trying to get rid of.
I have received a dog door, a starter set of red wiggler worms, several
plants and tree seedlings. I 've given away old plastic easter eggs,
packing peanuts and a bunch of other stuff that I didn't think had any
value.

It's a great place to find pieces of lumber, compost, and plants

I've given away a ton of stuff, but even though I've tried, I'm never able to receive anything. I guess everyone's a lot faster than I am. So for me, freecycle is just an easy way to get rid of things I don't need anymore.

Call me a newb , but I have never heard of that before , thanks for the heads up , I went and made an account. I love to go to the thrift stores and garage sales and this sounds like fun sort of like being able to swap what you not using!

I have given away quite a lot of stuff on freecycle, but have never had any response to my "want" list. I've requested things like grass clippings, manure, old lumber, brush. All things I would think folks would be happy to get rid of. I guess its easier to put it in the garbage than e-mail someone about coming and picking it up.
