Beefsteak over my head!

Post  Taney71 on Wed 23 Jun 2010 - 10:14

I'm 5' 9" and one of my beefsteak tomato plants is taller than me. It is growing well above the trellis I bought for it. It has good sized maters on it, and I'm thinking the weight from them will eventually harm the plant. Should I prune off the top so it will stop growing up? How tall can my Red Beefsteak Heirloom maters get!?!?
