I've got corn!

Post  Josh on 7/8/2010, 5:54 pm

I picked the first ear of corn today!
We have a 5 foot by 5 foot SFG for corn, and the poor corn has been trampled down by our Great Dane, blown down flat twice by the storms, and me and my dad pulled it back up each time, tied rope around it and it went on and grew anyway.
We planted 4 to a square, the name of it was Bodacious sweet corn.

Good Gravy Josh!! That's awesome! I'd say you surpassed the old 'knee high by the 4th of July" rule! Smile But it seems everything in your garden is MONSTROUS!! Very Happy

Oh man that looks so good! It certainly is bodacious! I guess you surpassed that 'knee high by the 4th of July' old saying. I am salivating.

Nice looking corn!

I absolutely love corn and have never grown any, but now maybe I will try a box next year. You certainly give me encouragement.

Happy Gardening Everyone....

Try it, Dunkinjean! Very Happy I can spot you some seed if you want, PM me. (It is shoepeg corn, which means the rows will not line up.)
