Zucchini ID

Post  doc_jh on 7/14/2010, 3:13 pm

I had what turned out to be a zucchini pop up in the garden(not SFG). Don't know what kind it is though. It's about 7-9 inches long, 4-5 wide, really tough skin, and a yellow area around the neck. Shredding/freezing any zucchini I have now for winter bread so I haven't used any of this type in zucchini bread yet. Normally use Black Beauty, but hated to throw this out. Anyone have any ideas??

Don't know... have you grown squash before? This sounds like a hybrid that is trying to be a winter squash. Do you have pictures?
