Gallery: Personal Album suggestions/questions

I have been wondering about a few things regarding the forum galleries, so I thought I would just go ahead and ask/suggest them in writing. Smile

1. When you click on the Gallery link in the forum, you are taken to a page that looks like this:

Is there some way you can make the Users Personal albums link more prominent? I think it kind of small in comparison to the showcase and avatar links.

2. What's the difference is Showcase of Gardens and a users personal album?

3. The Personal gallery pages looks like the following to me, i.e. it looks like a messed up slider puzzle. Smile

Is there any setting that can straightern out the rows and columns or is that a forum software thing?

Hi,

There's no denying that the forum gallery is not much more than an afterthought by the developers. I would love to find a better way to showcase members' pictures, but I haven't been able to find a feasible work around the server storage system.

I can't even change the name. But, I can change the picture. If you have a picture that you think would be better, I'll put it in.

SofG was something Alan initially set up in order to establish the galleries. There is no guideline or focus for it at this time; it's just there.

I agree, but there are no options to change it.

I noticed that you do not have to be signed in to view the Showcase of Gardens, but you do have to be signed in to view the personal gallery. Judging from the number of views of the photos in the showcase of gardens it's viewed more often than some of the photos in the personal albums, maybe because visitors are viewing it, or simply because it has a photo as a link to it.
Also Alan did not turn on the ability to edit or delete your photos in the Showcase of Gardens album, but you can delete or edit you photos in your personal gallery.

That's correct. There is no option for members to delete their pictures in the public galleries. Read the forumotion source here.
