Winter squash recommendation

Post  dixie on 7/19/2010, 2:37 pm

I've only grown Delicata winter squash before but this year I also planted some Sweet Dumpling & Honey Boat Delicata. I harvested the first Sweet Dumpling today for my lunch - YUMMY. It is small, but very meaty. I cut it in half, cleaned out the seeds & zapped it for 3 minutes. I left it covered for a few minutes & then sprinkled brown sugar & cinnamon on it with a dash of butter. The Honey Boat is definitely a keeper.

The Honey Boat delicata are growing very well & fruit size is quite large. They are doing great on the trellis.

Baker Creek/Rare Seeds: Honey Boat Delicata

It looks like a regular delicata.
