I declare WAR !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Post  vanter0109 on Sat Jul 24, 2010 2:14 pm

URGHHHHHHH, #$$%##@@%$%#%$ aphids!

They are getting bigger & are not going away! I am now switching to try Neem oil.

I had to finish putting up my trellis unsing a lantern last night (OK, so I kind of got behind on that) & as I was trying to tie up my squash & cucumbers I was finding grown aphids.

Just as I thought I was begining to win that war...SURPRISE

In fact...I'm going to pick up that oil right now...oh, it's on!

Take no prisoners Vanter ! I usually use Safer Insecticidal Soap.

I'm borrowing a phrase from one of the Star Wars Movies , remember what Anakin said after he visited the sand people? yeah , do that. ha.

You go girl! Get them suckers. I'm still Neem oiling mine, but am considering switching to something that won't kill bees. I've never had much success with soaps, but perhaps it's because I don't use them daily.

war

Post  vanter0109 on Sun Jul 25, 2010 6:32 pm

Take THAT you nasty little buggers! I just doused everything with a gallon of Neem Oil mixture, and I could tell that the bugs did not like it...hahahahaha (evil laugh).

Now we'll see who starts winning!

I'm so exited, we found 2 baby bell peppers & 1 baby cucumber! It's about time! I am beginning to feel the satisfaction of my work.

So I'm supposed to spray once a week for five weeks & I intend to win this war!

Fight on, my people...fight on!

War

Post  vanter0109 on Tue Aug 03, 2010 10:25 am

Sadly, I have lost the battle with one of my squash plants :o( It passed way after an extremely short unknowen battle (I never even saw it coming, thought everything was fine...besides the aphids....) & was pulled from the earth yesterday morning.

Also, after learning that my plants would not produce any vegies during this unbearable heat (was told I have 2 options: pull them & prepair for September planting; or try to keep them alive until that time) & since my poor cucumber plant looks soooooo pethetic anyway...I have decided to pull it as well. :o(

Oh well, at least I still have 2 more squash plants along with my other plants to continue my learning experiance until September!
