My crazy pig weed

Post  chocolatepop on 7/30/2010, 4:40 pm

I'm just gonna let it go and do its thing until it wants to seed, then it gets yanked.

It is probably 4.5ft tall right now?

That really does look a lot like amaranth. Here is my Orange Giant Amaranth. There are several plants there, but it's the big one that stands out. For reference, the top of the trellis is 6.5-ft tall. (There are some cucumbers climbing on it, too... and if you look just to the right, some of my corn is almost as tall.)

Mine don't have any side branches, except for the one that snapped in half during a storm a while back -- it send out a pair of side branches and has been stubbornly growing from that.
