One of the Finest Things in Life

One of the simple pleasures in my life is Peaches & Cream: slice a peach, place slices in a bowl, sprinkle just a bit of sugar, add very cold 1/2 & 1/2. Enjoy YUM! What is your simple pleasure?

I have found several this year:

Picking a fresh herb for immediate use

Super fresh corn, cooked simply

Simple salads of whatever is available in the garden, ditto soups

The first BLT of the year

A warm, sweet strawberry - whoever gets them as far as the kitchen?

Peaches & Cream - I haven't thought of that in years, so delicious! I'll have to buy peaches when I go to the store.

Fresh cukes & tomatoes with salt to eat at my desk while working. (I did learn today that 3 cukes at one sitting is TOO much).

Fresh sugar snaps right off the vine is high on my list too.

I took some funky heirloom tomatoes to work today and all the football players were oogling at my lunch! I took a green zebra, and some black cherries, and a white cherry.

One of the Finest Things in Life

Post  junequilt on 8/17/2010, 1:26 pm

Fresh arugula instead of (or in addition to) lettuce on a sandwich.

Picking and eating my own cherry tomatoes right off the vine.

Baby Malabar spinach leaves in a salad.

Can I go home now and start picking?
