Fall plants at Lowe's

Post  dixie on 8/30/2010, 5:58 pm

Our local Lowe's (TN) had a good selection of fall plants: bundles of onions, 6 or 9 packs of collards, broccoli, 2 cauliflowers, brussel sprouts, seems like more. There were 2 full stands of them outside. No seeds, only plants.

Post  graficow on 8/30/2010, 7:47 pm

I sure hope Lowes or HD in Florida has finally gotten their fall plants in.
Im so anxious to get them planted. DH is ready to go for surgery and I

Anybody in Florida have info?

Fall plants at Lowe's

Post  junequilt on 8/30/2010, 8:33 pm

Thanks for the tip -- I'll stop by my local Lowe's tomorrow after work.

It's really pathetic because I have some seeds, but just don't have the wherewithal to deal with them!

I did plant some presprouted seeds a few weeks ago. The heat did most of 'em in.

I'm in the Panhandle, and all I'm seeing so far is the summer leftovers... and they are not long for this world !!

I'm in the panhandle, too, and I noticed our Lowes had some fall veggies (broccoli, brussel sprouts, & collards), but not the onion bunches I was looking for, so I just bought a pack of onion seeds...I'm planting now and didn't want to wait!

Same in Central FL ... "new" stuff came out last week.

Broc, cali, squash, collards ..

Nice to see something new on the racks besides nearly-dead mint & catnip.

I know it would never happen (due to lost sales from aisle wandering), but wouldn't it be nice if the Lowe's/Home Depots of the world would put webcams in their outdoor centers ... just so you could see if there was anything new in the plant aisle :drunken:

I keep hoping that someday that Bonnie's will get a clue & at least have a section on their website for "Hey ...here's what we shipped to your favorite store this week".

I didn't plan to buy any plants this fall (we all know how that goes, right?) but because of this thread I took a look at Lowes today. They have an "Amelia" tomato that I'll probably go back and get once my beds are ready. That's my 3 year old's name!
