The Dregs of Box 1

Post  Chopper on 9/21/2010, 8:23 pm

I pulled everything out of box 1 (planted in March) in anticipation of planting the fall stuff this week. Below are the "dregs" of that box. I also took off the riser on one end and left an Anaheim pepper that is still producing. Just couldn't do it. And it has been starved of sunlight b/c of the tomatoes so I though I would give it half a chance for a couple of weeks.

Below are carrots, tomatoes and yellow and red onions that bullbed with varying degrees of success but are still useable.

I did soak the MM with fungicide as the tomatoes and cukes from this box were pretty badly infected.

It may be time for me to have my first ever fried green tomatoes...

First Time Ever?? OH my. You have been deprived.
I like mine sliced thin ---with salt. (hint)

The older the green tomato is---the better.
The younger green toms don't have a strong flavor.
