My question is what to do with my asparagus bed after the first year? I planted four per square foot last year. Squirrels have been digging in the bed, but they all appear to have survived the winter. Will know better in a month. Mel's instructions are to add a trowel of compost every year to each square foot. What about perennials, such as strawberries and asparagus? My garden is in Georgia, in case this makes a difference. This year we have had the wettest, coldest spring in a long time

Cheztop, I see that you haven't had a response to your question yet. I think it would get more exposure in the General Forum so I am going to put a copy of this post over there too. I know there are many people who grow asparagus in their SFGs so you will probably get some pretty good input.
