Question for those that bought SAMS club raised beds

Post  milaneyjane on 10/17/2010, 1:02 pm

I was wondering how everyones held up. Three of the beds I left single, and two were stacked two tall. The ones that were stacked have really bowed out between the first and second layer. I am wondering how long they will last. Shocked

Have you thought about driving stakes on the outside of the boxes to help retain the wall?

camprn---that is exactly what I am going to have to do. But being that I like a "10" for looks in my garden, (DON"T LAUGH) all I can think about is that it isn't going to match in material, LOL!

Re: Question for those that bought Sam's Club raised beds

Post  dcgelinas on 10/17/2010, 3:20 pm

Hi milaneyjane, I also bought the raised beds from Sam's Club. I left mine single level and they did just fine. I was concerned with possible bowing which is why I left mine single. Can you reinforce them from inside somehow? Why couldn't you use a small piece of wood like Camprn showed you but attach it to both levels on the inside of the bed? It will be covered by dirt pretty much and won't be as visible.
