What specific varieties will you plant again?

Post  dixie on 11/15/2010, 11:27 am

I just pulled a couple of carrots for a snack that are s-o-o-o sweet, I thought I would ask what are some your faves from this year?

My carrots were: Both heirlooms from Baker Creek. Excellent flavor & large size. Both were very sweet.
Jaune Obtuse Du Doubs (yellow)
Muscade (orange)

Peaches & cream corn

Boston pickler cuke

Giant Musselburgh leek

Honey Boat Delicata squash

Sweet dumpling squash

Late flat dutch cabbage

Perfection Savoy drumhead cabbage - huge, crinkled leaves. will be making some concrete leaves out of the outer leaves if I can get around to it

Lettuce: Rocky top mix, Red Wing Mix, both from Baker Creek

One definite no-no: Cascabella peppers. I've never seen so many peppers in my life. I love jalapenos, but these were hotter than a jalapeno & too hot for me.

i'll definitely plant less arugula next year.

more peas.

we love carrots, too.

we had good yields with tomatoes and green peppers once the weather leveled out.

will plant more squashes next year - and will succession plan thtem as well so if bugs get them, i can try again and again and again. Smile
