Got my first seed catalog today!!

Post  Blackrose on 12/9/2010, 3:30 pm

The Vesey's Seed Catalog arrived in the mail today. I am so excited! I have already looked through it twice and marked it with flags. My DH just shook his head at me and told me that it's not a Christmas Wish Book! I say "Why not??".

lol!

oh, how AWESOME to getting the first one of the next year!

they are such fun to thumb thru, mark up and read over and over, making little wish lists and adjusting those lists (esp when tabulating the cost of all the wishes, *grin*)

and gosh yeah! it IS a christmas wish list book! for gardeners/grownups! the ultimate 'toy' catalog! Smile

since i don't have that catalog, i had to go googling to find it - here's the link for others who read this thread and want one of their very own! Smile (I love being an enabler!)
https://www.veseys.com/ca/en/catalogue?&veseys=funnfiib33dvljn7t58bkc40s7

or depending on one's location:

https://www.veseys.com/us/en/catalogue

thank you so much for sharing your excitement with us here at the forum!

that seems like a particularly interesting catalog to read! Smile

edited to add - i just love canada - we used to live in alaska and i had the best memories of our travels on the al-can when we drove to the lower 48. it's just breathtaking the area. someday. . . our long term goal is to buy property in alaska and live there during a month or so of the winter - and visit during the summer as our summer retreat . .

This made me smile, I've always said that one of the first signs of spring is getting the Vesey's catalogue in the mail. i got the Richters one this year as well, they sell lots of herbs as well as veggies and they load their catalogue with tons of information on the uses for those herbs. If you're interested you can find them here.

Thank you Rolanaj!
You're welcome. Must be something in the air because I spent a large part of today scanning through seed catalogues, the SFG book and Carrots love Tomatoes for ideas on companion planting. I'm trying to get my husband more interested in gardening or at least building the frames as I really want a couple more. I have several small odd size ones that I got pre-built for nothing. One of them is maybe two by two and the others are maybe two by three feet. I've found them a whole lot easier to manage with a toddler than the huge row garden we used to have, the only trouble is I end up tucking too much into them.
