You know how it is, you look at one video on Hypertufa flower pots, the next thing you know, you have gone to the next video and it is on leaves to decorate your garden, then on and on..............

This was such fun. I am glad you posted this.

Thanks

Cool link

Post  ander217 on 12/14/2010, 10:52 am

Thanks for this link, Camprn. I agree with furbalsmom. I started out enjoying watching a way to make planters and ended up viewing more of the videos to the point that I now wish I could make a garden sculpture for my garden.

Maybe I'll run across a design that doesn't require artistic talent.

thanks

Thanks for the idea Happyfrog. I have titled it thus as I was thinking I may want to add other ideas or fun side projects in the future. When I see a link I really like and I know that I will want to revisit it, I will add it to my personal bookmarks on my computer. rendeer

I'm going to have to give hypertufa a try! It's so strange to think that just three or four years ago I wouldn't have even considered such a thing. Gardening is a wonderful gateway to creativity Very Happy

To save the link just go to the page and bookmark it. Or save it to your faves.
You don't have to go to the link to view a posted vid. Just click on the arrowhead and it will run right here. No need to get distracted by other vids.

Pretty neat. I've made my own seedling pots just out of paper bags. It worked pretty well, but I'd much rather plant in ground.

Re: Fun Side Projects and Ideas

Post  KDeus on 6/19/2012, 10:48 am

My kids and I are making "Toad Abodes" for the garden. I bought 3 (one for us each) 6" terra cotta pots that we'll turn on their sides and bury 1/3 of it so the toads have some cool ground to lay on. I also bought us each an 8" (or so) terra cotta plant saucer that we'll bury to the rim and add some water to it and place it near the pot. Each of us is painting our own and then I'll seal the painted part with a spray.

As soon as we're finished, I'll post some photos. It's a great inexpensive project, and an fun way to encourage some good critters in the garden to stay around.
