Welcome to the forum, Kev.

But if I'm not mistaken, aren't you supposed to post your freeway exchange number too, so that locals know if you're from north or south Jersey?! Razz

I hear you guys can grow great tomatoes in the native soil without even trying. True? Must be sweet!

Welcome Neighbor. Don't worry Boffer, we all know he's from the TRUE garden state, SOUTH Jersey Smile

Last year I did an experiment with my Rutgers Tomatos, 2 in Mel's Mix and 2 in native soil. I can't say I really noticed a difference, they both performed equally and both tasted awesome. The good news is you can get tomatos at any road stand in the summer and they all taste awesome grown in our sandy soil.

Lord for some good old Jersey tomatoes. Hubby is from Bridgeton/Vineland and it is the ONE thing good that he says he misses about Jersey. (No offense to the locals) Wish you all the best in your gardening.

Though this plant gets a mixed reception in the grids of SFG, we also grow some great CORN in Jersey!

Some SFGers swear by it, but most just swear at it. Laughing
I've failed at it twice so far and I'll be going for #3 this year. But after that, I'm going to just stick with the roadside stands a plenty!

Welcome, Kev!
