Bloggers?

Post  BackyardBirdGardner on 2/15/2011, 9:35 pm

I was wondering if any of you blog regularly about your SFG? I can't remember if I've noticed anyone saying so. And, I'm super lazy tonight, so I haven't bothered to look around.

Mine is in my sig, and hasn't been updated in quite some time. Would it be considered inappropriate for us to post our links here to help others find us? Personally, I am looking for some to follow. I figured I'd ask here first since I feel I am getting to know some of you. I would rather follow people I know than a complete stranger.

Somewhere around here there is a whole thread about SFG blogs. [Edit: What Boffer posted!]

I tried to blog my garden last year but what I rapidly found out, for myself anyway, was that I had time to garden and live my life, or blog. Not all three. Maybe it will work out better this year for me. Other people are MUCH better at blogging their garden than I am and there are some really nice ones out there.

Please keep links to blogs limited to your signature or the URL link made available in your profile. (Yes, replying to that original garden blog post is another possibility, but imho it's not a good solution, as you have to know it's there before you can link to it or look for it.)

Ideally what we should avoid is numerous individual posts specifically advertising "here's my blog." That would be spam, and more importantly, difficult to search on. Common sense applies. Smile

When I'm less tired, I'll add you to my follow list in reader. I like the title of your blog. I lived in Collinsville & Belleville, IL for 5 years so I like to think of the 'Lou as my second home.

I've been trying to be very serious about keeping mine updated this year. Let's see if I can keep it up coming spring, but for now I'm trying to do a new post at least once a week. It's more for me to keep track of what's happening with my garden but if someone wants to read it they are more than welcome.

Awesome, guys. I thought there was a link around here somewhere. Thanks for sharing it. As for the others, I will check them out when things get slow around here.

I agree with the common sense approach and anti-spamming stuff, too. I was only asking for a quick rush of places to poke around. If I find one is spam, I will certainly post a comment in here for the others to avoid it. Spammers and spyware are just twisted evils.

I was trying to keep mine updated regularly, too. However, with all the winter snow around here, it's been difficult. When the wife and kids are around....snow days....I don't get computer time. And, when I have other things to do, I don't get to the blog. However, the seasons are showing signs of changing again, and that will get nature bloggers active for awhile again.

See y'all round the forums.

I blog pretty regularly and my blog is listed at the end of each post.

I also check out bloggers here when they give their sign so I can add them to my favorites list of Blogs SFG so I can see what they're up to. Many don't blog too often. Its a great way to follow what our fellow gardeners are doing so I really enjoy and read the blogs.

I try to take time for mine when I have new pictures to share of instructions I've posted on mine like my 'Growing' series. I've already posted how to grow Broccoli, Cabbage, Parsley and Cauliflower. I'm trying to keep ahead of the seed starting or sowing times for all areas.

I find blogging fun and relaxing after a hard day sewing, quilting, or gardening and before bedtime. It relaxes me.

I used to blog about the coupons and sales but that got too time consuming since it was a weekly chore.I'm planning on blogging my garden since that shouldn't be a weekly chore. When I get it up and running, I'll update my siggy.
