Great Day Today !!

Post  sceleste54 on 2/19/2011, 6:42 pm

The Panhandle of Florida had the most beautiful weather today... Bright and sunny, low 70's....
We had the coldest longest winter we've had since I moved to Florida and today was much appreciated... I got out and cleaned up my 2 beds, emptied out the compost pile and sifted out the good stuff and mulched all around my plants.. Picked probably the last of the spinach and maybe the last of the collards. I know I'll be sorry but I bought a Goliath Hybrid Tomato and planted that too.. Its much too early but maybe I can protect it enough to get some early tomatoes.. Hope everyone had as nice a day as I did !!

Lucky! It was nice here, sunny, but only around 50. I'm so ready for spring!

Hasn't started snowing yet and we got up to 18F today, so not a bad day for winter! Snow tomorrow, so I will dream and plan instead of dig and plant.

Beautiful day here in south Texas, too. sunny About 85. Kids went swimming again in the kiddie pool I filled up yesterday. That kept the girls busy while their little brother napped and I was able to get a LOT done today. All of my tomato starts that I have room for are in now and I am trying to find people to adopt the rest. Most of my peppers are also in...just a few late germinators left that I want to get a little bigger before putting outside. Peas poking their heads up like crazy; planted mostly dwarf varieties that mature quickly, so hopefully they'll do their thing before it gets TOO hot (really should only be in the 70s right now). Couldn't believe it when I looked back on the month on weather.com and realized that last Saturday we were happy it got up to 69!
