Howdy from the Jersey Shore!

Hey, everyone! I am a SAHM of 3 kids--2, 4, and 5. We started a few container gardens last summer, and got about 3 tomatoes and 10 strawberries. My oldest LOVED it though, and we decided to step it up this summer. We have roped off 3 4x4 squares in the yard, and ordered our seeds. I am trying to track down all the ingredients to mix our dirt up. Other than that---I am at a loss!! I will be diving head first into the forums, and digging up all the help I can. Looking forward to a productive season!!

Just jump right in and we will try to help.

Have your read the book ALL NEW SQUARE FOOT GARDENING (yes it is all in caps)? You said you were looking for your ingredients, so you probably have, but the instructions are really simple, the book just makes sense.

Once your beds are built and filled with Mel's Mix, you just start putting in your seeds or transplants. Just like using last year's containers, but with the MM and correct spacing, you will be amazed at what you can grow.

Keep us updated on your progress, we want to see how you are doing.

Welcome Alesha and kiddos! You will love it here! 3 tomatoes and 10 strawberries is MORE than enough to get the gardening bug! My dad was a row gardener, but some of my fondest memories are from being his shadow in the garden. By 6 yrs old I had my own garden areas and was scheming what to dig up, re-arrange, and add to the yard! Your kids are going to love SFG!
