Just before my freeze..

Post  BackyardBirdGardner on 3/28/2011, 11:46 am

I have been trying to get pics up for a couple of weeks, but haven't had the time to load them and share them.

Here are several shots of my garden and it's contents...

Peas on the right, spinach (direct seeded on 2/23) in the middle...

Radishes planted about 7 days before this picture..

My lettuces. They were planted in peat pellets in late Feb and transplanted around St. Patty's Day. Slow growing, but finally taking off. The buttercrunch on the left is courtesy of Ander (I wanted to show you how your babies were doing. Wink ).

My tomato and pepper transplants being hardened off.

And, the netting you see me taking the pictures through. I cut sections of bird netting and draped them over the hoops from my HH. I removed the plastic, ziptied the netting together and anchored it to the base of the bed with screws, and can just put the plastic back over things if need be. The netting was more for the dog than critters, but when doing something you may as well do it right, right?

There you go. A bit of an update. As for my freeze, things look good. It looks like I owe Boffer a few bad jokes.

BYBG, so glad things were fine while you were away, I bet it was good to get back home though.

Why would anyone give Boffer a few bad jokes, seems like he has more than enough already.

It was a bet the smart-alek made to me when I posted Friday about leaving without putting the 2nd cover on the garden given the weather forecast. He won. I'll pay up.

With this much cheese, we should start a dairy farm. (oooh, that may actually be number one.)

As if you or I tell "good" jokes. I just thought that was an oxymoron for us....good joke....lol.
