Post  jymarino on 3/30/2011, 11:16 am

I ordered the book from Amazon and should have it by the end of the week! Just wanted to let you all know so you don't wonder "when is she just going to get the book already??"

I don't think anyone would wonder that. There are a lot of people around here that haven't read the book for different reasons. It's all good......but, I think it's important to read.

The book has a way of explaining things with clarity that we can't always do. And, it lays out the fundamentals so well. You will quickly understand what is debatable, and what will likely encounter some resistance here after reading through the book.

Great job! I hope more follow your lead.

I use the one at my local library often, and it looks it. Very Happy

I also noticed here in Florida that Publix supermarkets have a "pocket" sized square-foot gardening book located in a Ferry-Morse seed rack display. I picked one a up and it covers all the the basics, and is a good quick reference. It was $5

I have Mel's first book and have made mass updates using the newer version. The old book still has some good stuff though.

I am so excited to get started that I read it in three days. Every spare moment I had I was curled up with the book.... Now I'm wishing I had slowed down and taken notes.... oh well, I guess I just have to re-read it! :o) You're going to enjoy it as much as the rest of us!

I purchased both sqf garden book and his cook book so I was able to use the free supersaver shipping at Amazon and it came in 2 days! I was so over the moon excited, I never get my books that quickly. I <3 Amazon!

I usually get super fast shipping from Amazon as well, it never takes the 5-7 days they claim it will. I tried to get it from the library but there are 27 holds on 9 copies. I figured I may as well just get it for myself.

We homeschool our kids so we've been having quite a bit of horticulture class lately. Hopefully they'll like it if we actually have fewer weeds!

Funny thing about Amazon....I used to live in a little town called Independence, Kansas. Some of the Tulsa people might know where it is. I lived 7 miles away from an Amazon warehouse.

I used to get a kick out of seeing where the book/item would go on it's way around the nation to land in my house 3 days later. I have even offered to come and just pick it up because it would just make more sense.

Those things would go down to OKC, up to Dever, across to Wichita, and finally arrive at my door.....7 miles from where it was sitting on a shelf just 3 days ago.

Crazy stuff.

I think Amazon used to fill orders from out of state distribution centers to get around sales tax...

You'll love the book! I checked it out of my local library, read it 3 times and decided to order one of my own! I got mine from Amazon too.
