Texas Tomato Cages

Post  barmstr on 4/3/2011, 11:31 pm

Just saw a video on tomatoes cages that was intersting. He is making his cages from horse fencing, but the latter part of the video is about Texas Tomate Cages . They are big and sturdy. Apparently, they are expensive also but are built to last.

I suggest subscribing to his channel as he has a great presetation and lots of good info. His entire front yard is his garden. They are raised bed and he follows square foot gardening. To fill his boxes, he had to bring in 50 yards of planter mix. Wonder how many wheel barrow loads that is? Now we are getting into higher math.

Oh, well. Back to the seed catalogs.

I hear the veggies growing.

There have been threads about Texas Tomato Cages over on Gardenweb, they get good reviews. They won't work with my plan this year, but I might try them in the future.

My cages are horse panels too. Strong and last forever! My neighbor grows his cucumbers in the cages and he actually uses two high and a ladder to pick at the top! We store them on brackets on the outside of the shed.
