St. Louis Area Calendar of Events..

Post  BackyardBirdGardner on 4/6/2011, 2:20 pm

I would encourage the major cities representatives on this forum to do one of their own, if possible. Again, it's the "team" thing. There is no way I could do Chicago, KC, Omaha, Pierre, Cincy, Indy, etc. I don't have the local papers to thumb through. But, here's the STL since we have a few people hanging around...

4/28-30...Herb Days
Demonstrations and sales. www.stlouisherbsociety.com Located down at MoBot. Residents of STL city and county get in free on Saturday mornings. (Shhhh, that's my little secret.)

4/30...Master Gardner Plant Sale
9a-3p...South County Tech High School...12721 West Watson Rd in Sunset Hills. (This is so close to the path of the New Year's Tornado you will still see damage on the way there.)

4/12 Intro to Herb Gardening
9-1130a..St. Charles County Extension Center..$20/class

4/12 Rain Barrels: Building and Using
1pm...University of Illinois Extension, Edwardsville and Belleville offices. Pre-register@ www.extension.uiuc.edu/madisonstclair or call 618-650-7050 or 618-236-4172. $5 for b/w handouts, $10 for color.

4/14 Native Plant School: Common Garden Weeds
9a-12p..$15..Shaw Nature Reserve...636-451-3512

4/16 Raised Bed Gardening
Sorry, but LOLOLOLOL!!

4/16 Spring Rose Workshop
10a...FREE...Hillerman Nursery and Florist...636-239-6729

4/19 Square Foot Vegetable Gardening
THIS might be worth a shot. FREE!
6pm...Sugar Creek Gardens...1011 Woodlawn, 63122 (Kirkwood)

That's a very basic rundown, but at least it's something. Hope someone takes advantage of these opportunities! Let us know if you did.
